Destrehan falls short in wild 67-57 semifinal shootout with Zachary

When it rains it pours. As the raindrops fell harder, Zachary scored quicker. During a five-minute span in the third quarter at the height of an all night driving rainstorm the defending 5A State Champions turned a 36-33 deficit into a 54-36 lead on their way to a highlighy eventful 67-57 win earning a trip back to the 5A State Championship (where they will face West Monroe) while Destrehan's season comes to an end. ... After having played in Week 10, Destrehan and Terrebonne were more than familiar with each other in last week’s Class 5A quarterfinals. Three River Parish teams will be moving down in classification for the 2019-20 and 2020-21 school years after the release of the final basic district plan released by the Louisiana High School Athletic Association on Tuesday.
