For two teams with high-scoring offenses, it has been the defense that has shined through the first two games of the playoffs. Destrehan, with an offense averaging a whopping 46.7 points per game, takes its prolific offense to Dutchtown on Friday night in the Class 5A quarterfinals. Destrehan’s defense came up big for the second week in a row in the Wildcats’ 34-7 home win Friday night over Ruston in the second round of the Class 5A playoffs. The Destrehan Wildcats showed they were back where they belonged.
