The resurgence of Destrehan has left the powerhouse with an old problem – fewer and fewer people want to play the Wildcats. With District 7-5A now being a seven-team league after South Lafourche’s drop to Class 3A, the odd number meant each team had a bye in its district schedule. Family honored at Don Raymond Relays

In addition to quality competition from five River parish Track and Field teams, Thursday's Don Raymond Relays offered up a chance to meet family members of the late Don Raymond who was an integration pioneer in River Parish Atheltics. Hahnville won the boys team title with Brandon Singleton winning the 110M and 300M hurle events. Destrehan's Kirk Merrit was named the Don Raymond Relays Track MVP with three wins on the day.
