Destrehan coach Stephen Robicheaux often speaks of the importance of the opening minutes of the third quarter. In Friday night’s District 7-5A showdown against Thibodaux in Destrehan, the Wildcats were clinging to a 28-20 lead and the Tigers got the ball to open the second half. Starting at their own 27, the Tigers reached the Destrehan 42 before facing third-and-11. A conversion would keep the drive alive and a touchdown and two-point conversion would... Keep Reading

The 5-2 mark is in stark contrast to the Braves’ recent stretch of football. HLB went 2-8 in four of the previous five seasons. The only interruption was a 0-10 mark in 2013. The prior two seasons,... Keep Reading

THIBODAUX, La. - The celebratory postgame rush onto the field by the Nicholls State Colonels on Saturday afternoon didn’t go exactly according to plan. “We practiced that on Friday. The first thing I told them (after the game) was I was a little disappointed. I thought they would be a little more excited. I think they were in shock after it being so long,” Nicholls coach Tim Rebowe joked. You will... Keep Reading
