Destrehan hasn’t lost a football game on the field during the last three regular seasons. The Wildcats put that on the line when they host Slidell in the 2016 season opener Friday. Destrehan is coming off a loss at Lutcher in last week’s jamboree on a late rally by the Bulldogs. Boasting an explosive offense but with a defense that is replacing nine starters from a year ago, Wildcats coach Stephen Robicheaux... Keep Reading

That’s because the Wildcats are replacing nine of eleven starters off of a defense that helped Destrehan reach the Class 5A quarterfinals a year ago. “When you replace nine on defense and you replace the likes of Glen Logan and Gerald... Hahnville’s first- and second-team units each scored twice in the controlled portion of its home outing against Northshore while both teams had missed scoring opportunities in a concluding timed quarter in a Friday night scrimmage. The Tigers’ defense never allowed Northshore to score while big plays were the story for Hahnville. A missing aspect of Hahnville’s offense, however, had coach Nick Saltaformaggio in a lamentable mood. “We are a... Keep Reading
