East St. John loss leaves three teams tied for first in District 8-5A

The Higgins Hurricanes picked the right time to be able to finish a game. A week after losing 25-8 to Hahnville to fall out of a first-place tie in District 8-5A with East St. John, the Hurricanes stormed into Reserve and came away with a 20-15 win over the district only remaining unbeaten team. East St. John scored all the points in would need in the first half to defeat Destrehan 20-0 to gain sole possession of first place in District 8-5A Friday night in Destrehan.
