East St. John continued to redefine “resiliency” with the Wildcats’ 25-12 homecoming win over Bonnabel. After Destrehan’s Denzel Arceneaux returned a kickoff 68 yards for a touchdown to put his Wildcats ahead of East St. John’s 35-21 with 6:44 left to play, East St. John fans figured they would need a miracle to pull this one out. Smith’s interception returns seals Hahnville’s 26-16 win over ESJ

While his team has struggled offensively this season, Hahnville coach Lou Valdin has had to put a lot of his faith in his defense. Friday night against East St. John, that faith was rewarded - big time. The Tigers defense came through with three interceptions, two by Jamal Smith.
