East St. John junior quarterback Marquise Darensbourg has been named the Riverparishfootball.com/Buckwalter Insurance Player of the Week after accounting for six touchdowns in The Wildcats 47-37 win over Terrebonne. Darensbourg was 10-19 passing for 171 yards with 3 touchdowns, and rushed 24 times for 224 yards and 3 touchdowns, leading the Wildcats to their first win of the season. Keep Reading

East St. John wanted to win its first game of the season in a big way. The Wildcats did just that, using big plays on offense and defense to build a 40-17 halftime lead on their way to a 47-37 victory over Terrebonne on Friday night at Joe Keller Stadium in Reserve. A year ago when Hahnville fell to 2-3 after five games, the Tigers went on to win seven in a row on their way to the Class 5A quarterfinals. Following a 2-3 start again this season, the Tigers now have won two in a row, so maybe history is repeating itself in a positive way for Hahnville.
