Three area schools to compete in new classifications next year

Three of the eight River Parish schools will be in new classifications for the start of the 2017-18 school year after the final basic districts were announced by the Louisiana High School Athletic Association on Wednesday in Baton Rouge. In a game where Hahnville seemed to have an answer for John Ehret all night, the Tigers ran out of big plays in the fourth quarter falling to the Patriots 35-28. The second-round playoff loss ends Hahnville's season at 9-3. John Ehret won’t have to refer to GPS to reach Hahnville on Friday night. When the Patriots take on Hahnville in the second round of the Class 5A playoffs, it will mark the fourth time John Ehret has played a River Parish team this season.
