It may appear that when you are a two-time defending state champion, you can start practice as late as you want to. That may have seemed like the case for Lutcher’s football team but there was more to it than just a late debut for the 2017 Bulldogs. “We were just trying to make sure we just had as many guys here as possible,” said Dwain Jenkins, who is conducting his second... After back-to-back state titles, the Lutcher Bulldogs are in need of a new challenge. The challenge will come in the form of a not-so-new but improved Class 4A district. Although no specific date has been established, all indications point to a December signing period. The... Keep Reading

It has been no coincidence that the pipeline of River Parish football talent to Nicholls State has been flourishing over the past few years. Since being named the Colonels head coach in 2015, Tim Rebowe, a Norco native, Destrehan grad, and former Destrehan head coach has regularly tapped into his talent-rich home base. This spring, eleven River Parish players are on the Nicholls roster. Next week Rebowe is headed home again, but this time he won... Keep Reading

In the first six years of Riverparishfootball.com (2010-2015) only twice, St. Charles in 2011 and Lutcher in 2015, did any of the eight River Parish teams win a state championship. In 2016 that total doubled as both Riverside and Lutcher claimed state titles. No coincidence that both school’s head coaches Bill Stubbs and Dwain Jenkins have been named Riverparishfootball.com Co-Coach of the Year. “Well it’s pretty exciting,” said Stubbs who... Keep Reading
