All eight River Parish teams have qualified for the Louisiana High School Athletic Association playoffs for the second year in a row. Two teams – West St. John and St. Charles Catholic – have garnered opening-round byes. Lutcher went into its regular-season finale at Plaquemine having won three-straight games and seemed to have the ball finally bouncing its way.
