Lutcher rallied from a 9-7 deficit to defeat Assumption 28-9 in a clash of two teams ranked in the top four in Class 4A Friday night in Napoleonville. Down by two points entering the second half, the fourth-ranked Bulldogs took a 15-9 lead in the third quarter on a 49-yard run by quarterback Ruston Matherne and a two-point conversion run by Daniel Matherne. Lutcher built a 21-0 lead on its way to a 49-12 win over Belaire in the Bulldogs’ final home game of the season. The Bulldogs won their seventh-straight win to move to 7-1 overall and 5-0 in District 6-4A. Belaire fell to 1-6 overall and 1-3 in district.
