Jenkins returning to his alma mater as new coach of Lutcher Bulldogs

It’s a short move to Lutcher but just part of the journey for Dwain Jenkins. Jenkins, the head coach at St. James, today was named the new head coach and athletic director at Lutcher, his alma mater. A former Lutcher player and assistant coach, Jenkins replaces Tim Detillier, who announced he was retiring following the 2015 season. Detillier, 60, concluded a 38-year coaching career as the winningest coach in River Parish high school football history.... Keep Reading

Small schools get their fair share of River Parish football players

The Power-5 schools draw the major attention on National Signing Day, but as usual, recruiters from smaller schools came away with another bumper crop from the River Parishes, some in bulk. Of the 29 players from River Parish schools who signed with colleges on Wednesday, 23 were with programs at the Football Championship Subdivision level or lower. Arkansas Baptist signed four players from West St. John and two other Rams are headed to East Texas Baptist University.... Keep Reading

LSU’s top-ranked recruiting class includes Destrehan’s Logan

For LSU to have the No. 1 recruiting class in the country and the best recruiting class in school history, the Tigers would need to have a River Parish player in that number. Nicholls lands stellar RPF crop

Nicholls State football coach Tim Rebowe may be the Noah of college football, signing players two by two. Of the six River Parish players signed by Nicholls on National Signing Day on Wednesday, two each came from Lutcher and St. James high schools.
