For the third year in a row, Lutcher defeated Destrehan in the Ed Reed Jamboree, this time it was 23-21 on a last-second 22-yard field goal from Alec Bland. Potential heavy rain associated with the remnants of Tropical Storm Harvey has led to two River Parish jamborees moving from Friday to Thursday. The Ed Reed Jamboree featuring Lutcher at Destrehan is now slated for 6 p.m. Thursday. Also, the St. Charles jamboree also has been moved to Thursday. It’s a pretty good bet the Lutcher Bulldogs will not be a three-time defending state champion, so they will just have to settle for a three-peat.
