Like the temperatures in uptown New Orleans, things got cold for Riverside after building a 7-0 halftime lead at Newman. By the time the game ended, the wind had picked up and temperatures in the upper 50s surrounded the Rebels who walked off the field following a 21-7 District 9-2 loss to the Greenies. Lutcher rallied from a 9-7 deficit to defeat Assumption 28-9 in a clash of two teams ranked in the top four in Class 4A Friday night in Napoleonville. Destrehan avoided its usual slow start, scoring 14 points in the first quarter but was shut out for the final three periods in falling to Bonnabel 18-14 in the Wildcats’ home finale.
