Regardless of the outcome, when Destrehan and Covington meet, they usually bring out the best in each other. Both head coaches felt that way following Thursday’s spring game at Destrehan. The game, which was originally scheduled for Friday at Covington, was moved to Destrehan on Thursday in anticipation of inclement weather and the fact the Wildcats have an artificial turf playing surface. “We love play Covington,” said Destrehan coach Stephen Robicheaux. ... The philosophy of the Riverside Academy Rebels over the past few years has been “next man up.” It’s a philosophy that has faced several tests over the years but the biggest one may be the upcoming 2016 season. Starting five years ago with a very young football team, coach Bill Stubbs and his staff have been building. The building process led to an appearance in the Division III state finals a year... There are newcomers – and then there are newcomers. Having lost ten of 11 starters on defense and nine of 11 on offense off of a team that reached the Division III semifinals a year ago, the St. Charles Catholic Comets are faced with a major rebuilding job in 2016. “I not only lost numbers but I lost experience and I lost depth.
