In the aftermath of the Louisiana High School Athletic Association’s decision on Thursday to deny an appeal by Andrew Robison to allow him to be eligible to play football at Hahnville, the Robison family has decided to seek legal remedy. The Robison family released a statement through their attorney, David S. Moyer. “This investigation was initiated and guided by the spiteful and vindictive allegations of Andrew’s former coach and school.... Keep Reading

Lutcher’s 29-26 defeat at the hands of rival St. James may have been a thriller, but it still goes down as a loss for the Bulldogs. “For a fan, it’s a great game to watch. For a coach, it’s not always a great game to be involved in,” Lutcher coach Dwain Jenkins said. “Unfortunately, a game like that – especially in a rivalry game – there... Keep Reading

While Destrehan coach Stephen Robicheaux wouldn’t term it a “revenge” or “payback” win, the Wildcats coach had to be content to capture a 31-3 victory over St. Charles Catholic last Friday. “Overall, I was very pleased,” said Robicheaux. “Coach (Wayne) Stein (St. Charles’ defensive coordinator) just does a good job of getting his kids lined up and they don’t make a whole lot... In the aftermath of Hahnville’s 26-0 loss to John Ehret last Friday, Tigers coach Nick Saltaformaggio is scratching his head searching for answers. Not only did Ehret shut out Hahnville, the Patriots held the Tigers’ struggling offense to 165 total yards. That’s a pattern that has been going on for weeks. “If you go back to the 15-minute quarter against Northshore (in a scrimmage), the jamboree, the first game and... Keep Reading

Not a whole lot of coaches get a chance to go back home and win one for the ole alma mater. Brandon Brown was one of the few after his East St. John Wildcats defeated West Jefferson 41-6 last Friday at Hoss Memtsas Stadium in Harvey. “It was very emotional,” Brown said. “It was hard for me to just hold back the emotions and once that (scoreboard) went to zero, just to... The circumstances may have been different but the results we the same for West St. John last Friday. For the second year in a row, the Rams bounced back from a season-opening loss to rival St. James with a victory over South Plaquemines. A year ago, WSJ suffered a heartbreaking 36-33 loss after leading 33-15 with eight minutes left in the game. A week ago, the Rams were drubbed by St. James 43-0. “I... Keep Reading

In St. Charles Catholic’s 31-3 loss to Destrehan last Friday, two of the three phases of the game let the Comets down. “The defense played as hard as it possibly could play. The offense couldn’t take any pressure off of them,” St. Charles coach Frank Monica said. There also was another area of concern for Monica. “I was really disappointed in our special teams. That’s something... Keep Reading
