While most teams were battling in Week 10 for possible district championships and playoff seedings, Riverside Academy was facing an open week – the Rebels’ third such off week of the season. “Hopefully, we have it figured out now,” Riverside coach Chris Lachney laughed. “It’s been an interesting year. Our kids have bounced off of every twist and turn throughout the year that has come up and we had a... Keep Reading

Six different players scored for Riverside (3-4 overall, 2-1 in District 8-2A) and the Rebels’ special team produced points on two occasions. Meanwhile, Country Day quarterback Justin Ibieta passed for 241 yards on 25 attempts but earned them the hard way while taking a pounding from... Keep Reading

Country Day’s football program reminds Riverside coach Chris Lachney of the Rebels a few years ago. “Country Day is a talented football team. They kind of cut their teeth like we did a few years ago. They had a very good basketball team and very good basketball program for a long time. A lot of those kids play both sports so the success is now bleeding into football,” Lachney said. Lachney...
