As it turns out, it’s not your father’s rivalry. With Lutcher dropping down from Class 4A and St. James moving up from Class 2A following the initial reclassification meeting of the Louisiana High School Athletic Association on Wednesday, the two schools preliminarily have been reunited in District 9-3A, starting with the 2015-16 school year. River Parish teams produced another big class on National Signing Day with 30 players Wednesday signing to play football with schools from around the country. Along with quantity, the signing class also boasts a lot of quantity. Of the 12 players to sign with Football Bowl Subdivision schools, seven are headed for schools from the Power 5 conferences. Few season-opening games could match the headline-grabbing nature of Riverside Academy’s encounter with Evangel Christian. Going into the game, the Eagles seemed to have the advantage.
