Three area schools to compete in new classifications next year

Three of the eight River Parish schools will be in new classifications for the start of the 2017-18 school year after the final basic districts were announced by the Louisiana High School Athletic Association on Wednesday in Baton Rouge. Bill Stubbs has retired as head football coach at Riverside Academy and defensive coordinator Chris Lachney has been elevated to the top spot Wednesday. Stubbs is fresh off of his fourth state championship after leading the Rebels to the Division III title over rival St. Charles Catholic 47-20 last Friday in the Superdome in New Orleans.
