When St. Charles senior quarterback Lloyd Nash suffered a broken clavicle in the season opener at Chalmette, it appeared that his season and maybe that of the Comets was ruined. Far from it. National Signing Day takes on new feel following early signing period

For players like Shawn Preston of St. James and Macon Clark of Destrehan, the drama has been over for a little while. Both took advantage of the new early signing period last December with Preston signing with Mississippi State and Clark with Tulane. When St. Charles took advantage of an early third quarter special teams mistake by U-High and turned it into points on a Lloyd Nash 1-yard touchdown plunge there was hope that the Comets could do it again.
