St. Charles Catholic never threw a pass in its game Friday night at Jeanerette. That’s because the Comets didn’t have to. Comets running back Erron Lewis scored three rushing touchdowns to lead St. Charles to a lopsided 55-0 win over a young Tigers squad. “They were very, very young and outmanned. We took control right away,” St. Charles coach Frank Monica. St. Charles (2-2) built a lead of 35-0... Keep Reading

Any discussion of Karr could have an opposing coach feeling a bit leery, especially after the Cougars opened the season by toppling the other St. Charles Parish high school, Hahnville, 42-13. In a dominating performance, Cougars quarterback Devante Noil accounted for four touchdowns in the game. He rushed for 236 of his... Keep Reading

St. Charles Catholic’s season-opening game at home against Vandebilt Catholic on Friday was an emotional outing for both teams. The Comets were playing their first game of the season following Hurricane Isaac’s destructive flood waters inundated Laplace and all of St. John Parish while Vandebilt quarterback Elijah McGuire seemed to be on a personal quest. A year ago, McGuire’s season came to an end in a Week 2 loss to... Keep Reading
