St. Charles running back Erron Lewis has been named the Buckwalter Insurance River Parish Player of the week for his week No.2 performace against East Jefferson. Lewis rushed for 150 yards on 17 carries, including four touchdowns as the Comets snapped the defending 4A state champions 16-game win streak in convincing fashion 49-14. An opportunistic East Ascension defense and St. Charles Catholic’s inability to stop the Spartans’ offense on third down doomed the Comets in a 42-35 loss Friday in Laplace.
