You maybe could call it the new Rebel Alliance. A better name for it might be the Louisiana Select High School Athletic Association. After Friday’s vote by the Louisiana High School Athletic Association to not only retain the select/non-select playoff format in football but to expand it to baseball, basketball and softball, talk has arisen about private schools completely breaking away from the LHSAA. Not only will there continue to be nine championship brackets in high school football, starting with the 2016-17 school year, the format will be expanded to include baseball, basketball and softball.
