St. James drops to 0-5 on season with 48-21 loss to Assumption

St. James allowed more than 500 yards total offense as the winless Wildcats dropped to 0-5 on the season with a 48-21 home loss to Assumption. The Mustangs, ranked fifth in Class 4A, improved to 5-0 with the victory. Assumption jumped out to a 14-0 lead on a pair of Hunter Gauthreaux touchdown passes. Vandebilt Catholic was able to outlast St. James in a clash of teams battling serious injury bugs Friday night in Houma. The Terriers, playing without multi-threat quarterback Elijah McGuire, led 7-0 at halftime and was up 14-0 late in holding on for a 14-0 victory over the winless Wildcats. SJH suffers first shutout of season in 47-0 thumping at Patterson

St. James was limited to 91 yards total offense as the Wildcats were shut out for the first time in 2011 in a 47-0 loss at Patterson. Patterson running back Trevon Stewart led a 397-yard attack for the Lumberjacks, rushing for two touchdowns while adding a touchdown reception. Jefferson, Dent combined for six touchdowns in win over St. James

Rickey Jefferson and Dillan Dent each accounted for three touchdowns in Destrehan’s 45-22 home win Friday night over St. James. Jefferson had 112 yards on two catches, both for touchdowns. He also rushed for 73 yards on five carries and a touchdown. Dent was 5 of 7 passing for 184 yards and three touchdowns. Rams pull out thrilling 18-12 overtime win over rival St. James

Field conditions were not conducive to West St. John being able to get the ball to its biggest threat, Jairus Moll.
