If the St. James Wildcats had any thoughts of a second-half rally against Riverside Academy on Friday night in Vacherie, Rebels’ receiver Von Julien took care of that in mere seconds. St. James trailed 35-20 to open the third quarter when Julien returned the second-half kickoff for a touchdown to balloon the Riverside lead to 41-20 on the Rebels’ way to a 62-32 victory in the District 8-2A opener for both teams. ... Narcisse named RPF Player of the Week

After accounting for 406 total yards and rushing for 4 touchdowns in a 36-17 win over Vandebilt, St. James quarterback Lowell Narcisse has been named the Buckwalter Insurance RPF Player of the Week. The sophomore rushed for 262 yards and passed for 144 yards in the Wildcats first win of the season and their first ever in the new St. James Stadium. Riverside poses multiple threats for St. James in district opener

Season-opening losses to West St. John and E.D. A first test of dealing with adversity, a first win, a first quarter tie with a team ranked first in the nation just two years ago, the first touchdown catch by a 330-pound nose tackle, and the first back-to-back triple overtime games in recent memory.
