The search for a new head football coach and athletic director at St. James High is down to two finalists. After interviews with six candidates on Friday, the field was narrowed to Robert Valdez and Keith Menard. Valdez recently concluded his first season at Scotlandville after serving the previous seven years as head coach at West St. John. St. James is seeking a new football coach following Dwain Jenkins’ announced return to Lutcher, his alma mater. It’s a short move to Lutcher but just part of the journey for Dwain Jenkins. Jenkins, the head coach at St. James, today was named the new head coach and athletic director at Lutcher, his alma mater. A former Lutcher player and assistant coach, Jenkins replaces Tim Detillier, who announced he was retiring following the 2015 season.
