Unusually cool temperatures for early May had new St. James coach Robert Valdez a little confused about the season. “It’s always like Christmas when you get a chance to wake up Christmas morning and open up the gifts and all that,” Valdez said during the Wildcats’ opening day of spring practice Wednesday afternoon. “I’m very optimistic with what we are building day-by-day.” Valdez is conducting his... For most of St. James’ spring game against visiting Chalmette on Tuesday, the Wildcats’ biggest concern seemed to be an ineffective run defense. That was until quarterback Lowell Narcisse has horse collared. On the Wildcats’ final series of the spring game, Narcisse, the star St. James quarterback, scrambled to his left. He was roughly brought down to the ground with a horse collar tackle by a Chalmette defender. “It’s... Keep Reading
