Since West St. John’s return to Class 1A, the Rams have yet to lose a game in District 8-1A. After sweeping all four district games a year ago, the Rams have added two more league victories, including last week’s 44-18 win over Covenant Christian. In those six district games, the Rams have outscored their opponents 303-25. West St. John’s win over Covenant Christian represented the tightest game the... Keep Reading

The West St. John Rams displayed their potent running game once again as their offense proved to be too much for Covenant Christian Academy in 44-18 District 8-1A win at John L. Guidry Stadium on the Nicholls campus in Thibodaux.   The Rams (5-2 overall, 2-0 in district) totaled six rushing touchdowns, half coming from running back Kylan Duhe, the leading rusher in the River Parishes. It was the Kylan Duhe show as he rolled up seven touchdowns for West St. John as the Rams beat down on Houma Christian in a 61-0 blowout in the District 8-1A opener Friday night in Houma. “He is unstoppable right now,” Rams coach Brandon Walters said of his running back’s 220-yard performance.   Walters also credited strong blocking by his offensive line and D’Andre Gaudia&rsquo... If last Friday’s game is any indication, teams in Class 1A may need to start worrying about defending champion West St. John once again. After playing their usual pre-district slate against higher-classification teams, the Rams returned to the Class 1A level in a final tune-up before the start of league play. West St. John won 48-14 to head into district play 3-2 on the season. “It was a pretty sloppy game out... Keep Reading
