All eight River Parish teams once again qualify for state playoffs

All eight River Parish teams have qualified for the Louisiana High School Athletic Association playoffs for the third year in a row. Two teams, defending Class 1A state champion West St. John, and St. Charles Catholic in Division II, received opening-round byes in their respective brackets. If there is any team in 2018 that has a true sense of Homecoming, it has to be the West St. John Rams. After beating Bonnabel 40-20 at home in Week 3, the Rams have been away from Edgard ever since. Since West St. John’s return to Class 1A, the Rams have yet to lose a game in District 8-1A.
