Destrehan showed early in its Spring Game on Wednesday that the Wildcats continue to have quick-strike ability. In a scrimmage that feature Destrehan’s first- and second-team units alternating series against visiting Covington, the Wildcats scored twice in their opening set of 12 plays. Except for a 26-second span late in the first half, West St. John dominated its Class 1A semifinal game Friday night against visiting Logansport, the defending state champions. West St. John overcame a slow start to defeat visiting Jonesboro-Hodge 26-6 in the Class 1A quarterfinals Friday night in Edgard.
