River Parish football teams flexed its muscle one more time as all eight teams again qualified for the state playoffs.
St. James, the top-ranked team in Class 3A, secured the top seed in its classification after a perfect 10-0 regular-season campaign.
The Wildcats will host Mansfield, the No. 32 seed. The victor will advance to take on the winner of the game between Jena, the No. 16 seed, and Green Oaks, the No. 17 seed.
Two River Parish teams earned opening-round byes.
West St. John (6-3), like St. James, earned the No. 1 seed in Class 1A. The Rams will take on the winner of the game between LaSalle, the No. 16 seed, and Arcadia, the No. 17 seed.
St. Charles Catholic (0-1), which garnered the No. 3 seed, also gained an opening-round bye in the Division III playoffs. The Comets will take on the winner of the game between Episcopal, the No. 6 seed, and Northlake Christian, the No. 11 seed.
The three River Parish teams from District 7-5A all qualified for the playoffs.
Destrehan (7-3), earned the No. 7 seed in Class 5A and will host Ponchatoula, the No. 26 seed. The winner will advance to take on the winner of the game between Sam Houston, the No. 10 seed, and Covington, the No. 23 seed.
Hahnville (8-2) is the No. 12 seed and will host Chalmette, the No. 21 seed. The winner advances to take on the winner of the game between Zachary, the No. 5 seed, and Live Oak, the No. 28 seed.
East St. John (6-4) ended up as the No. 24 seed and will travel to take on Central of Baton Rouge, the No. 9 seed. The victor will take on the winner between Airline, the No. 8 seed, and Southside, the No. 25 seed.
East St. John was forced to forfeit two wins from earlier in the season due to the use of an academically ineligible player.
The forfeits costs East St. John to drop in the power ratings and a potential opening-round home game.
The forfeited games included games against West Jefferson and Sophie B. Wright. ESJ had defeated West Jefferson 47-7 in Week 1 and Wright 56-9 in Week 3.
Lutcher (5-5) also qualified for the playoffs as the No. 20 seed in Class 3A. The Bulldogs will open the playoffs on the road at Booker T. Washington, the No. 13 seed. The winner advances to take on the winner of the game between Madison Prep, the No. 4 seed, and North Webster, the No. 29 seed.
Despite a 3-7 overall record, Riverside Academy made the playoffs as the No. 14 seed in the Division III plays. The Rebels, who won two of their final three games of the regular season to secure a postseason bid, will play at Ascension Catholic, the No. 3 seed.
Riverside lost to Ascension Catholic 35-22 in Week 2.
