Hahnville’s Allen Mire finished second in the state wrestling tournament held in Bossier City.
Competing in the 160-pound class in Division I, Mire reached the finals, losing by fall to Mason Massicot of Brother Martin. By reaching the finals, Mire scored 25 of his team’s 88.5.
Hahnville’s 88.5 points were good enough to place 28 among 80 participating teams.
Brother Martin won the Division I team title with 331.5 points.
Rounding out the top 5 were Holy Cross with 306.5 points, Parkway with 288.0, Basile with 282.0 and Teurlings Catholic with 242.0.
Mire reached the finals by defeating Alex Ogle of Lafayette High by fall in Round 1 and Yazen Zaben of Baton Rouge High, also by fall. He topped William Broussard of Fountainebleau by decision in the quarterfinals and Reginal Barnes of East Ascension by major decision.
Dalton Delhommer scored 11 points for Hahnville by reaching the quarterfinals in the 106-pound class.
He won by fall over Jhala Denson of Lafayette in Round 1 and over Luc Laurentz of Barbe in Round 2. Delhommer lost by fall to Evan Frost of Holy Cross in the quarterfinals.
Logan Brimmer scored nine points, competing in the 220-pound class.
Brimmer received an opening-round by before defeating Romelus Culpepper of Amite by fall in Round 2. Brimmer lost by tie-breaker to Jace DuFesne of Sulphur in the quarterfinals.
Clayton Cambre scored nine points, competing in the 120-pound weight class.
After receiving an opening-round bye, Cambre defeated Anthony Krass by fall in Round 2. He lost by fall in the quarterfinals to Brandon Stein of St. Paul’s.
Shannon Summers earned 7.5 points, competing in the 182-pound class.
Summers received an opening-round bye before winning by technical fall over Samuel Short of Baton Rouge. He lost by fall in the quarterfinals to Caden Mumme of Holy Cross.
DaVontez Simmons scored six points, competing in the 195-pound class. After an opening-round bye, he lost by fall to Jaylon Etienne of Comeaux in Round 2.
Donald Turner scored four points, competing in the 138-pound class. He lost by fall to Chance Jackson of Zachary in Round 1.
Gage Fleming earned four points, competing in the 145-pound class. Fleming won by fall over Gireesh Daggupati of Grace King in Round 1 before losing by fall to Hunter Gustin of Sulphur in Round 2.
Frank Clavelle scored three points, competing in the 126-pound class. After receiving an opening-round bye, he lost by fall to Luke Eccles of Jesuit in Round 2.
Ethan Dixon earned three points, competing in the 152-pound class. After an opening-round bye, he lost by fall to A.J. Sabine of Catholic High of Baton Rouge in Round 2.
D’Quinn Butler scored one point in the 285-pound class. After receiving an opening-round bye, Butler lost by fall to Eric Bumgarden of L.W. Higgins in Round 2.
